#1. It’s never too late to start.
If you procrastinated or failed, it’s okay. Just get back to it. Time passes with or without you, so you might as well get started.
#2. Create a vision and change your habits.
Meditate on what it means to you to be successful. If you don’t know what success is for you, you won’t know when you’ve achieved it. Once you find a new job or lifestyle to meet those goals, change your habits and focus on your mindset.
#3. Track your progress and be accountable.
Every day is the day to check your new year’s resolutions list. Surround yourself with others who will hold you accountable. Find a friend or system to keep you aligned with your goals and dreams. For example, keep a journal and spreadsheet with your workouts, meals, and goals to track your progress. If you procrastinate or lose focus, refer back to your journal to remind yourself why you were making the necessary changes in the first place.
Turn off your computer, email notifications, and silence your phone. Fully immerse yourself in the present moment. This is your opportunity to finish a task and pursue a dream.
#5. Quit feeling sorry for yourself.
Divert your negative thoughts into your new focused self. Do your best to tune out background noise. If society’s pressures or doubts creep in, brush them off and keep working. Focus on your new healthy habits and mindset. But if you can’t brush off negative thoughts, write your thoughts in a journal, find a friend or family member to talk to, and seek professional help.
Your mindset should carry on into other aspects of your life. Practice obedience and your perseverance will develop your character. In turn, you’ll become a better and more resilient you.
#7. Eat healthy.
You really are what you eat. Fuel your body with nutrients and water on a daily basis. You’ll find yourself more energetic and feeling good about the respect you’re giving your body.
#8. Don’t be a shitty person.
Everyone is searching for love and acceptance in life, so be kind to others. Create energy so beautiful and kind, that you will mostly draw positivity around you. Build your authentic core values and exude kindness; you will find more peace and focus in your life.
#9. Be grateful.
Reach for the stars but don’t forget to look down at the ground you’re standing on. You are here because someone somewhere, supported you.
#10. Remember you are planet Earth.
Societies are built off the Earth’s resources; medicine and the food you eat is available to you because of planet Earth. Carry a tote to the grocery store, avoid packaged goods and processed foods, and get involved with your community. You’ll be surprised how refreshing and wonderful you’ll feel by doing so.
Celebrate life. Yes, even with your new busy schedule. Find a few minutes everyday to reflect and to celebrate your little victories. Never underestimate them because those little victories can turn into something great!
